1130 AM MDT Mon May 13 2024

This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central...east
central...south central and southeast Colorado.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight

Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop over
the mountains around noon and drift off into the adjacent valleys
and plains during the afternoon and early evening. The main risk
with thunderstorms will be lightning, spotty moderate rain and high
elevation snow showers, and small hail under 1/2 inch in diameter.
Localized wind gusts up to 40 mph will be possible with showers that
drift off into the adjacent lower elevations. The higher peaks
above 11000 feet could pick up a quick inch or two of snowfall under
the more intense showers.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday

Showers will increase in coverage Tuesday afternoon. Snow is
expected along the mountains, with rain showers and thunderstorms
expected elsewhere. There is a concern for a strong to severe
thunderstorm or two across the San Luis Valley and eastern plains,
with the greatest hazard with any stronger thunderstorms being
strong winds, up to possibly 60 mph.

Unsettled weather prevails during the midweek period Wednesday and
Thursday. More widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected for
the region. There is still some uncertainty in how precipitation
will develop, but around 0.75 inches or less is possible.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Weather conditions that meet reporting criteria for spotters will
be possible over portions of the region.
